Students in grade 2-8 recently took the CASE assessment. CASE benchmarks are given three times per year. The test gives a projection of how your child should perform on the TNReady State Test administered in April.
Projections (Scores) include: 4-Mastered tested skills; 3-On Track to master tested skills; 2-Approaching Proficiency of tested skills; 1-Below Proficiency with tested skills.
A (+) sign beside the projection number indicates your child is very close to moving up to the next projection level. If your child has a 4+, that means they are close to 100% mastery.
A (–) sign beside the projection number indicates your child is very close to dropping down the next lower projection level.
The Scores have been recorded in PowerSchool for grades 3-8. The level is recorded under the assignment titled 'CASE 1 Proficiency'. Please check your students’ performance and contact the school if you have any questions. Second grade levels will be sent home as a paper report.

It is a great accomplishment for any school to receive recognition as a Reward School and we are excited to have five in our district! All the hard work from last year paid off. It was a tough year for everyone involved. Thank you to our staff for working so hard last year, and this year, during the pandemic. We feel confident that students in Gibson County Special School District are in a place where they can get one of the best educations in the state because of our great teachers and staff.
• GCSSD was named an exemplary district, only 1 of 7 in the state.
• GCSSD also had TVAAS level 5 scores. This is the fifth straight year the district has scored level 5 on TVAAS. Since 2012/13 the district has been a level 5 except for one year, 2014/15. (There were no TVAAS scores in 2019/20.)
