5th grade parents! Starting in 6th grade, your student has the amazing opportunity to join our band program. Not only will your student gain a formal music education, but they will also learn important skills that go along with being in a band that they will need for the rest of their life: discipline, grit, dedication, and teamwork. We invite you to view this website to learn more about the benefits of band and submit an interest form!

Tomorrow, students will be competing in our House Competition and will engage in a character study within their house chapters. Students are encouraged to wear their house shirts tomorrow. Also, in honor of World Down Syndrome Awareness day, our students will be rocking their socks and can earn extra house points tomorrow for wearing mix matched socks. Finally, SGCMS would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Jennifer McCallister, who graciously donated equipment to the middle school for this month's House Competition.

Recently, 39 SGCMS students participated in the Perennial Math competition, offered to students from across the United States. We were pleased to have several top scorers.

Next week Best Buddies will be selling socks Monday through Thursday during lunch for Rock your Socks Day (3/21). They will be $5 and will benefit The West Tennessee Down Syndrome Association and SGCMS Best Buddies.
Those who participate in Rock your Rocks will also earn extra points for their House Groups!
Everyone is encouraged to wear their socks on 3/21.
